Rodney Wayne Sparks, 66 of Marshall, TX was born on October 26, 1955 to the late Herbert Sparks and Velma Manning Sparks. He graduated in the class of 1974 from Marshall High School and was a lifetime member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity - Beta Sigma Chapter (Texas Southern University).
Rodney was employed by Texas Eastman Kodak in Longview, TX where he was a Chemical Operator for 29 years. He was a longtime member and regular attendant of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church. In his free time, he loved riding his motorcycle, cooking, making macrame art, and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Sparks Sr. and brother, Herbert Sparks Jr.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Estelle Mallory Sparks of Marshall, TX; children: Trent D. Sparks (Shelda), Shan Walthall (Kelvin), grandchildren: Trent Sparks Jr., Jaesah Sparks, Tristan Walthall, Jaylani David, Jhaeleon David, and Jalaysia David; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; a special cousin, Ernest Leon Clark; and a host of friends.
