Obituary for Nelson Stoker Jr.

Nelson “Speedy” Stoker, Jr. was born May 14, 1953, in Marshall, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Sr. and Rosie Lee Stoker.

He attended Marshall Public Schools and graduated from Marshall High School in 1971. Nelson accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized and a faithful lifelong member of Concordia Methodist Church.

Nelson united in marriage with Brenda Washington in 1981. Five daughters were born to this union.

He worked as a professional truck driver and mover for A & W Dunn and American Van Lines.

In his free time, “Speedy” enjoyed listening to music, telling jokes and spending quality time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Sr. and Rosie Stoker; siblings, Roderick H. Stoker, Janice Mason and Vincent Stoker.

He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Patrick Taylor, Renee Smith, Latoya (Rodrick Hyter, Sr.) Stoker, Chennal (Rance) Pullum, Nelsonya (Marvin) Humble, Crystal (LeMario Brossie, Sr.) Stoker, Kayla (Eddie Jackson) Stoker; siblings, Willie A. Betty) Stoker, J.D. Stoker, Fannie Newman, Florie Nelson, Ethel (Lonnie, Sr.) Newman, Sammy R. Stoker, Mattie Brown, Patricia Brazile, Mary (Staten) Poindexter, Clinton (Rosa)Stoker, Wanda Pope, C. Luster (Gloria) Stoker and Harold (Belinda) Stoker; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
