Born December 28, 1929, Lillie was the first daughter of Arthur and Annie Mae Parrish.
She joined Zion UMC at an early age and was a life-long, devoted member. She was a lay speaker and worked with numerous organizations within the Methodist & Baptist churches throughout East Texas.
Lillie attended the Liberty Church School, H. B. Pemberton High School, and Wiley College. Although she established herself as a teacher, her ambitions eventually led her back to school where she, along with Obelia Flanagan, Vester Turner, and Lucille Shaw, were the first black women to integrate the Marshall Public School system through the nursing program.
She married Aaron G. Donald, September 29, 1952, and to this union two children were born.
Mrs. Donald is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five siblings (Louis E., Joseph, Curtis, Arthur Jr., and Arletha).
