Obituary for Larry Bolton

Thank you, Lord God, for loaning us your Manservant, Larry Bolton on November 23, 1952.

Larry was born to the union of Mr. Walter Bolton & Mrs. Marjorie Bolton. He was the second oldest of six children.

Educational endeavors were completed by Larry Bolton in Pittsburg, Texas where he continued his education at Texas A&M University-Commerce, with a BS degree in Sociology. He worked at Terrell State Hospital during college and after graduation. Larry later attended the DPS Academy with great recommendation. He worked as a Trooper and Sergeant throughout his tenure with DPS. Larry retired after providing 25 years of service. After a short retirement he entered the education field. While at Hallsville ISD he worked with behaviorally challenged students and also drove a school bus for 12 years.

Larry was a humble and quiet man that would help anyone behind the scenes. He never mentioned kind deeds but everyone else did. Larry has given back to society by teaching and donating his time. Larry was an active member at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church remaining faithful throughout his life’s journey. It was clearly demonstrated that Larry was a clear and present support to his pastor, church ministries and openly prayerful praise and worship in and outside of the church walls.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Walter Bolton and Mrs. Marjorie Bolton; sister, Elsie Jean Bolton McKinney; brother, Ardis Bolton; and grandchild, Rowland Daniels.

Larry is survived and remembered by, his wife, Mary Joy Bolton of almost 29 years to celebrate his life and living.
