Obituary for Keisha Copeland (Sims)

Keisha Jeanne' Sims Copeland slipped away into eternal rest on March 15, 2022. She was born September 5, 1976 in Houston, Texas to Larry and Carolyn Sims who preceded her in death.

Keisha spent her childhood and teenage years in Houston. She completed her education within the Aldine Public School System. Her church home was North Jensen Church of Christ.

Following high school, she attended Prairie View A&M University and North Houston Jr. College. Keisha moved to East Texas and lived with her great aunt Bobbie Allen. Eventually, she and her mother Carolyn, relocated to Marshall, Texas.

Keisha worked various jobs in customer service, nursing, as a classroom teacher's aide, and telemarketer. She worshipped at Southside Church of Christ in Marshall, Texas.

Keisha married the love of her life, Karon Copeland on July 15, 2005. To this union, their precious daughter, AnnElise, was born on April 20, 2006.

Keisha had a unique passion for life. Her family was her world. She enjoyed her role as wife and "Momma" to AnnElise. Her special way of encouraging others and being a source of positive energy was infectious. It was evident to those who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, Karon Copeland, her loving husband, and their daughter, AnnElise.. Others mourning her passing are: aunts, Berenda Chatham (Laskey), Theresa Fitzpatrick (Robert), Glenda Booker (Kirk), and Terri Harris (Charles); mother-in-law, Mrs. Laddie Copeland (Hank Sr.)(d); brother-in-law, Hank Copeland Jr. (Allie); cousins, Chelsia and Channing, additional caring cousins, great aunts, great uncles, other relatives and friends.
