Obituary for John Scott
John Earl Scott born June 15, 1960, son of Bonnie R. Scott Johnson and the late John E. Adkins passed away March 18, 2023.
He attended Marshall Independent School District Class of 1978. After high school he enlisted into the United States Navy where he received a Bronze Star, Rifle Shaper Shooter Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Navy Battle “E” Ribbon and Good Conduct Award.
In his leisure time John liked to fish, cook, watch sci-fi movies and was a computer technician.
At a early age he united with Green Hill Baptist Church #2. Later, he became affiliated with Grace Missionary Baptist Church and New Vision MBC at Hillcrest.
He was preceded in death by father John E. Adkins; grandparents, John & Bessie Adkins and Elizabeth Scott; one brother, Andrew Jackson.
His memory will be cherished by his mother, Bonnie Ruth Scott Johnson; three brothers, Burnis Lamar Scott, John E. Adkins, Charles Jackson all of Marshall, TX; four sisters, Machelle Jackson of Palestine, TX, Deborah Williams of Dallas, TX, Monica Rosborough and Cathy Davis both of Marshall, TX, uncle, Gene Adkins (Annie Ruth) of Marshall, TX; three aunts, Ruth, Dorothy Nell and Johnnie Mae; a special niece, Amanda Moorehead of Wister, OK; his ride or die niece, Krystal Rosborough; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
