James Earl Survia was born February 20th in 1956 to the parentage of Gussie Mae Survia in Scottsville, Harrison County, Texas. James attended public schools in Harrison County where he resided until his heavenly departure on August 28th of 2023.

For many years he worked as an arborist. He was well known to climb excessively large tall trees and safely cut them down or trim them with expert skill.

James was preceded in death by his loving mother Gussie Mae and his sister Arnetta "Tweet" Covington.

James is survived by his abundant family: children, Cassandra Flowers, Adrian (Vernell) Williams, Jamarcus Wiliams, James (Jassmine) Williams and Victor (Aftin) Williams; siblings, Eddie (Ophelia) Survia, Jeanette Okra, Earnest (Constance) Survia, Brenda (Eddie) Abercrombie, Jan (Rufus) Johnson, Shirley (Miguel) Meyers, Ruby Woodkins, Allen Woodkins, Carolyn McClellean, Harold (Felica) Woodkins, Sonya (Mark) Survia-Woodkins-Smith, Dwyane (Sam) Survia-Woodkins, Delynn “Big Man” Survia and Comeal Survia- Lawrence.

James also leaves behind his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
