Career: Irene worked as a Housekeeper in Longview, Texas, until she moved to Dallas, Texas in the summer of 1969 looking for better employment opportunities. She remained in Dallas for over 30 years before returning home to Longview, Texas to retire.
Hobbies: Irene enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family and going to garage sales on weekends.
Preceded in Death: Parents, Beulah and James Reese; sisters, Willie B. Culpepper and Gladys Reese; Brother, James Reese; Granddaughter, Deriana Alford; Niece, Eve McCullough; and Nephew, Reginald Taylor
Survivors: Her memory will be cherished by her son, Rev. Henry Alford and wife Kaltrena Alford; six grandchildren, Andrea Alford, Chevaun Alford, Cornelius Williams, Khadejah Green, Logan Green, Isis Colbert; three great-grandchildren, Braden Espy, Trinity McCray and Ario Green; seven nephews and niece, Ronald Taylor, Rodreck Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Kevin McCullough and Bridget McCullough. Along with a host of cousins, and friends.
