Obituary for Henry Chalmers

Henry Douglas Chalmers was born August 6, 1942, to O. D. Chalmers and Jessie Mae Grey in Marshall, Texas.

He was a proud graduate of H. B. Pemberton High School, Marshall, Texas. Following high school, Henry joined the United States Army serving his country from November 29,1961 to May 10, 1965. After his military honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he began his civilian career as a truck driver. He drove trucks for IKE Trucking for many years.

Henry was married to Gloria Chalmers for over ten years. They were parents to Tina, Leslie, Michael, Christopher, and Deirdra.

For relaxation and entertainment, Henry enjoyed fishing, cooking, and driving on the roadways.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Mae Grey; brothers, Robert Gray and Gerald Chalmers; and sister, Pam Carpenter.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory is his father, O. D. Chalmers; children, Leslie Chalmers, Michael Chalmers, Christopher Chalmers, Tina Chalmers, and Deirdra Raymond; siblings, Ella Gray, Wallace Chalmers, Goldess Boone, Ollie B. Hill, and Angela Chalmers; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
