Hazel was born July 15, 1970 in Marshall, Texas to Herman Knighten and Bertha Knight Knighten. She joined Edwards Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.

She received her education in the Marshall Public Schools and a degree from B.M.I.

Hazel was a 1988 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Texas. She was employed by Marshall Regional Hospital starting out as a phlebotomist, then later on becoming the manager of the lab for sixteen years. She took pride in caregiving. That was her passion. She took care of her grandparents and husband until their demise. Hazel just had that loving, caring, and bubbly spirit. Every person she ever came across could not help but love them some Hazel. She always was more than happy to be rolling with her (road dog) mother. Hazel was a wonderful wife to Harold Williams. They were united in holy matrimony on December 31, 1993. She was a proud daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Hazel was also loved by many friends. She was always the go to person and gave great advice. She also was a loving cousin and niece.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Harold Williams; father, Herman Knighten, Sr.; brother, Herman Knighten, Jr.; grandparents; great-granddaughter, Jalani Cole; aunts; uncles; two lovely nieces, Crystal Knighten, and Christina Knighten; and cousin, David Knight.

My oh my did she have many friends but to name a few, Loretta Bennett, Priscilla Henderson, Sherese Hurd-Holt (Pieces), Kimberly Turner, Tomekia Turner, Anita Copeland, Tequicie Gatson, and Reva Bailey. If we left any names out just charge it to the mind and not our hearts.
