Obituary for Gladys Thompson

Sister Gladys Mae Taylor Thompson was born May 18, 1950 to Will Taylor and Annie B. Thomas. She was married to Roy Lee Thompson.

Gladys attended Green Star Elementary, H. B. Pemberton High School, and Hurd’s Beauty College. She was employed by Merritt Plaza Nursing Home, K-Mart, and Bealls department store for over 25 years. Gladys united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the pastorage of the late Emeritus A. W. Wright, Sr. and remained a faithful member until her health failed.

Gladys enjoyed her family, fellowshipping with classmates and friends, as well as, putting a smile on others faces. She also loved to dance and listen to music.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Leon James, sister, Mary Lee Powell, and son, Curtis Thompson.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted daughters, Linda Thompson of Marshall, TX, Sonya Flucker (Erik) of Brownstown, MI and LaJoyce (Jerry) Wilson of Riverdale, GA; son, Frank Thompson of Marshall, TX; sisters, Annie Powell of Dallas, TX, Ethel Gooch of Red Oak, TX, and Bertha Moore of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Danelle Womack, Jeremiah McCowan, Gloria Beham, Roderick Beham, Robert Beham, Michael Thompson, Jennifer Gyamfi, Kinyada Murphy, and DeMarcus Murphy; fifteen great grandchildren; aunt, Earnestine Taylor Rusk; special friend, George McCowan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
