Obituary for Georgia Scott

Georgia Mae Scott was born in Marshall, Texas to George and Ozie Scott on March 5, 1950. She attended Marshall public schools graduating from H. B. Pemberton High School in 1968. She went on to become a Registered Nurse obtaining her degree from Kilgore College.

Georgia was employed as a nurse at Marshall Memorial Hospital in Marshall, TX for 30 years. Later, she became a travel nurse working at various medical facilities within in Texas. Georgia retired from a rewarding nursing career after employment with Christus Good Shepard Hospital-Linden, TX in 2013.

Georgia enjoyed reading, watching westerns on television, attending East Texas black rodeos, watching and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and cooking for family gatherings.

She received spiritual inspiration from membership at James Chapel Baptist Church.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ozie Scott; and one brother, Odell Scott.

Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her three children, April Scott, Norma Green and Natalie Wheeler; one bonus daughter, Kimberly Lucas; six grandchildren, JaQuan Kelly, JaLea Holland, JaNae Turner, JaCedrion Kelly, JaHaree Tillman, and JaNiya Royal; four bonus grandchildren, Ashley Houston, Timesha Houston, Tonya Houston and Angel Williams; two great-grandchildren, Jakaitlyn Kelly and Londyn Turner; two sisters, Merline Scott and Annette Minnieweather; two brothers, Adell Scott and Franklin Scott; two nephews, James Ward and Odell James; one niece, Rochelle Ward; and a host of other relatives cousins, and friends.
