Demetrious Antwon Williams was born in Marshall, Texas on February 10, 1982 to Carolyn Hall and Bobby Tucker. He later resided with his aunt, Helen Anthony and Mama Rose Johnson. He attended grade school in Marshall Independent School District. Later he moved to Hallsville, Texas and attended Hallsville Independent School District schools. While there Demetrious “Meechie” ran track and played football for Hallsville before graduating from Hallsville High School. He continued his education and graduated from Kilgore Barber College in Kilgore, Texas.
He worked as a barber for several years in Dallas County as well as Seattle, Washington. He was a trained boxer at Mike’s Gym in Longview, Texas and he played semi-pro football for the Texas Twisters until he injured his leg.
At an early age he was united with Williams Chapel Baptist Church where he dedicated his life to Christ. This is where his love for music started. He sang in the choir and he also played the drums. Meechie was a God-fearing man who loved his children, family, and friends. He was an amazing father, uncle, brother, son, nephew, cousin, and grandchild.
Meechie was the life of the party. He loved music! Even though he could not talk without stuttering, he could rap without missing a beat. He was mentioned on a couple of tracks by DSR.
Meechie was preceded in death by his guardians, Rose Johnson and Helen Anthony; his maternal grandfather, Jobie Williams, Jr. and paternal grandparents, Quilla Mae Perkins and Wise Tucker; and aunt, Carolina Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and father; eight children, Caleb Harris, Ayanna Williams, Demetrious, Jr., Gethsemane Williams, Zion Williams, Royal Williams, Khloe Jackson and Dallas Williams; three brothers, Michael Battle, Jr. of Duncanville, Texas, Chaka (Shika) Johnson of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Rodney Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas; five sisters, Darkeshia Williams of Houston, Texas, Antoinette Williams and Juan Williams both of Marshall, Texas, Nika (Otis) Reese of Hallsville, Texas and Zoe Tucker of Washington; three bonus brothers, Corey Harris, Abshari “Tootie” Harris and Marcus “5” Smith; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
