Obituary for Darlene Roach
Ms. Darlene Know Roach, age 86, departed her life in Marshall, Texas on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Christus Good Shephard Medical Center-Marshall.
On May 4, 1936, Darlene Knox Roach was born in Harleton, Texas to Jim Knox and Emma Tucker Knox. Darlene attended and graduated from Mt. Enterprise School, in Gilmer, Texas. After completing her high school education, she married a Marshall, Texas native, James Roach, her first love. To that union five children were born.
Darlene loved everyone. She was a woman of faith; surrendering her life to God at an early age. She maintained her church membership at Second Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until her health failed.
Darlene was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ruby Roach; son, Glendale Roach; three brothers, Johnny Knox, Robert Knox, and Ed Knox; 2 grandsons, Kendrick Roach and Brodrick Mitchell.
She leaves a legacy of love to her son, James Roach, Jr.; two daughters, Jeannie Spratling and Emma (Roy) Williams; two sisters, Bessie Knox and Genell Knox Williams; one brother, J.D. (Patricia) Knox; grandchildren, Kamesha, Sherelle, Jermaine, Elvisha, Jasmon, Tasha, Jeremy, Jamall, Jamarcus, Ramona, Charles, Emile, Christopher, Chenea; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Gaut; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
