Obituary for Dan King Sr.

Dan King, Sr. as born February 22, 1935 to the late Hervey and Della Foreman King in Marshall, Texas.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a deacon at the Gainesville Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. S. T. Jones. He later visited the Macedonia Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas.

He entered into Holy Matrimony with Mary Gray on April 15, 1963 and were married for 58 glorious and wonderful years. Through this union they were blessed with 6 children.

He was employed at Miller and Parker for 44 years and worked for Mrs. Peggy Nehls for many years until retirement.

Dan King, Sr. departed his earthly body on November 20, 2021. As the last surviving child of 22 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Bertha King Hurd, Addie King McKnight, George King, Hervey King Jr., Leroy King, James King, Earnest King, Sam King, J. D. Foreman, Annie Laura Winkfield, Carrie Simpson, Josie Mitchell, Della Mae Hyter, Johnnie King, Mary Louise King, Malinda Rosborough, Doris Bowman, Earl King and Lillie Pearl Pierce.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: wife, Mary King; 6 children; Reginald King, Regina King, Yolanda Bell (Leland), Natasha King, all of Marshall, Texas, Dan King, Jr. (Sonja); and Dylan Demond King of Harleton, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Taylor, Kassidie, Davionne, Monkira, and Mon’nyia; a host of special nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends and acquaintances. Dan King, Sr. never met a stranger. He was a good man who helped his fellowman.
