Dan Kerwin Jenkins, the youngest child of Robert and Myrtle Jenkins, was born on January 31, 1959 in Marshall, Texas. He closed his eyes to join his Father in Heaven on March 21, 2021.
He accepted Christ at an early age embracing Pine Bluff Missionary Baptist Church as his church family; where he became a member of the youth choir.
Dan was educated in the Marshall Public Schools and graduated from Marshall Senior High School. Following graduation, he enrolled at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. He remained there until his junior year, ultimately deciding to join the workforce. Dan was employed at various companies such as the Marshall Country Club, Merrytimes Products, Cobb Fabrication, Trinity Rail, and Norbor in Jefferson, Texas until his health began to fail. “Chief” slowed down but continued finding joy in other types of projects, new hobbies, cooking and gardening.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Freddie D. Jenkins; two sisters, Patricia A. Jenkins Jackson and Gwendolyn Jenkins Harris; grandparents, Jack and Maud Sparks; aunts, Lizzie Lary and Blondell Jenkins Phelps.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Rosemary Jones; six sons, Kendrick D. Jones, Brandon K. Jenkins, Derrick Jenkins, Jeremy Williams and Kobe Williams all of Marshall, Texas and Chad Roberson (Adrienne) of New York, New York; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
