Obituary for Daisy Green

On December 20, 2023, we lost one of the true Angels on earth; but, the Lord has welcomed her home to rest eternally in Heaven.

Daisy Nickerson Green, passed peacefully surrounded by family, at The Atrium Medical Center in Stafford, Texas. She was born on June 18, 1929, in Elysian Fields, Texas to Peyton Nickerson and Daisy Bishop Nickerson. Daisy married the love of her life, Reubin Green, and they built a beautiful life together that included working side by side on their farm and building two churches Reubin pastored. They had one daughter together, Ruby Huston and raised three sons, Roger, Frank, and Andrew Green, as their own. Their children were always her top priority. Daisy was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She was given the name “Angel” by her late son-in-law Jerry Huston, because of her true angelic spirit. She spent most of her life caregiving for others when she wasn’t taking care of her own family, and she was very active in her church. Her cooking skills could rival any top chef in the world today. She cooked everything with real love and she put her soul into every dish.

Daisy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and strong faith. In her final days she impacted the lives of many people by her unwavering prayer and vision.

She is preceded in death by her father, Peyton Nickerson; mother, Daisy Bishop Nickerson; brothers, Payten and James Nickerson; sisters, Arice Nickerson, Margaret Green, Erma D. Ruterford and Asilena English. Furthermore, her husband, Reubin Green and daughter, Ruby Huston will also welcome her home.

She is survived by her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a whole host of family and people that she impacted while she was here with us.
