Obituary for Connie Ragland

On Monday, March 13, 1939, John Horace and Etta Mae Lester Horace welcomed a baby girl they named Connie Mae to the Scottsville’s Horace home and six siblings, Johnetta, Leo Vernon, Annie Lois, Clarice, Ray Herbert, and Verma Jean. Connie got to joyfully welcome her Katie Myrtle and Thomas Edison, Cheryl Ann and Cassandra Lillian to the loving Horace family.

Mother Connie, married to Archie Ragland Sr., gifted the world with six wonderful children, Andrea Brunette Ragland, Archie Ragland Jr., Anthia Joyce Ragland, Anita Gail Ragland, Anthony Ragland, and Arnie Karl Ragland.

Minister Connie Ragland accepted the assignment at an early age to serve in ministry. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. She joined James Chapel Baptist Church, True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, and Jerusalem Baptist Church as a disciple of Christ. She enjoyed quiet times with God. She taught us that Life is continuous and eternal. Most importantly, she demonstrated love and forgiveness to everyone. Mother loved spending time with family, laughing, and always having a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring mother and friend, always thinking of others. “To know her is to love her!” When you see Connie, you see Love-in-Action!
