Obituary for Comenia Woolen (Jones)

Mrs. Comenia Jones Woolen was born in Harrison County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Mike Jones and Mary V. Allen. She was educated in the public schools of Marshall, Texas.

On August 20,1954, she and the former Freddie Woolen, Sr. were united in Holy Matrimony, a union which continued until his passing.

Sister Comenia Woolen obeyed the gospel at an early age and became a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
She was a dependable and dedicated care giver employed by home health agencies.

Her passing Monday evening, September 13, 2021 at the home she loved, is a deep and personal loss to her family, relatives, and her many friends of the greater Marshall community. In their hearts there will live admiration, affection, and respect for her.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, husband and one son, Leonard Woolen.

She leaves to mourn her passing: nine children; Opal (Vernon) Henderson, Effie Jackson, Bobby (Linda) Woolen, Sr., Sharon Woolen, Fredrick (Gloria) Woolen, Wilber Woolen, Pam (James) Hurd, John Woolen, and DaJuan Woolen; nineteen grandchildren, Sharonda Woolen, Jamelle Woolen, Harold Black, Derrick Black, Latasha Jackson, Bobby Woolen, Jr., Brent Woolen, Timothy Woolen, Freticia Woolen, Lawana Howard, Tiffany Wilkins, Ebony Woolen, Jamecia Hurd, and a host of great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
