Obituary for Betty Willie
Mrs. Betty Lavern Hodge Willie died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 5:15 p.m. at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.
She was born May 18, 1947 in Woodlawn, Harrison County, Texas; and was the daughter of Willie Hodge and Loretta Howard Hodge.
At an early age she united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended Morning Star Elementary, from there H.B. Pemberton High School. After completing her education, she joined the workforce as a Home Health Provider.
Later in life, Betty was united in holy matrimony to Danny Willie in Woodlawn, Texas where they continued to reside. To this union three children were born. Betty spent her life providing unyielding service, compassion and love to her patients, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Hodge and Loretta Howard Hodge; one sister, Voidlee Maze; four brothers, Calvin Hodge, Andrew Hodge, Willie Hodge, Alvin Hodge and John Lee Hodge.
She leaves to morn her memory, two daughters, Gwendolyn Willie of Dallas Texas and Linda Gale Willie of Marshall, Texas; one son, Derrick Willie (Femer) of Dallas, Texas; five lovely sisters, Travis Dixon (Billy) of Dallas, Texas, Annethia Small of Longview, Texas, Gloria Knighten (Eddie) of San Antonio, Texas, Joetta Taylor (James) of Longview, Texas and Mary Carter (Dr. Napoleon) of Marshall, Texas; one very special and unique brother, Lonnell Hodge of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Ellien Leeks, Kiara Willie, Ladrius Payne, Asia Jones, Jordan Brown, Josiah Brown and Jeremiah Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, others relatives and friends.
